Den Anfang machte er mit dem Chrysler Special, von dem es zwei Versionen gab. Das Original feierte seine Premiere auf dem Pariser Salon 1952 als dreisitziger Fastback, der auf einem gek\u00fcrzten New Yorker-Chassis aufgebaut war. Als Nachfolgemodell des K-310\/C-200 zeigte er &#8222;Continental-Stilelemente\u201c: eine lange Motorhaube und ein kurzes Heck sowie gro\u00dfe Drahtspeichenr\u00e4der in runden Ausschnitten. Die Karosserie war nur wenig gew\u00f6lbt und sorgte in Verbindung mit der niedrigen Dachlinie f\u00fcr ein bulliges Erscheinungsbild. Es blieb zun\u00e4chst beim Unikat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auch die zweite Version im Jahr 1953 blieb ein Einzelst\u00fcck, das auf dem l\u00e4ngeren New-Yorker-Serien-Chassis aufbaute. Die zus\u00e4tzliche L\u00e4nge machte sich in einem normalen Kofferraum sowie f\u00fcnf Sitzpl\u00e4tzen bemerkbar.&nbsp; Aber es blieb nicht bei den Show-Modellen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aufgrund der positiven Resonanz in der \u00d6ffentlichkeit wurde 1954 eine dritte Version in einer St\u00fcckzahl von 400 Exemplaren aufgelegt. Diese trug den Namen GS-1, wahrscheinlich f\u00fcr &#8222;Ghia Special&#8220;, obwohl das Styling wieder von Exner stammte. Das Gesamterscheinungsbild lag irgendwo zwischen den beiden Specials. Die Hauptunterschiede bestanden in einem gr\u00f6\u00dferen und eckigeren K\u00fchlergrill, einem neu gestalteten Dach und Kotfl\u00fcgeln sowie den originalen New Yorker-Sto\u00dfstangen von 1954.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alle GS-1 verwendete den  331 Hemi V-8-Motor, der mit dem neuen vollautomatischen Zweigang-PowerFlite-Getriebe von Chrysler verbunden war.
