Fiberglasplatten dienten auch zur Verkleidung des Fahrgestells. F\u00fcr den Zugang zu den zwei Batterien und der Turbine konnte die Kabine elektrisch gekippt werden. Fl\u00fcgelt\u00fcren, die oben mit Scharnieren befestigt waren, gaben den Zugang zur Kabine frei, sobald der Schl\u00fcssel in die T\u00fcr gesteckt wurde. Drei Lampen waren in einfahrbaren quadratischen Scheinwerfereinheiten in den Lufteinl\u00e4ssen untergebracht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Der Antrieb, die GM-Gasturbine GT-309, war eine Weiterentwicklung der Turbine f\u00fcr die Firebird-Konzeptfahrzeuge der 1950er Jahre. Turbine und Verdichter waren f\u00fcr einen Betrieb bei 35.700 U\/min ausgelegt und entwickelten 280 PS bei einer Drehzahl von 4.000 U\/min. Um eine nahezu konstante Betriebstemperatur aufrechtzuerhalten und eine Motorbremsung zu erm\u00f6glichen, war der Motor mit einer variablen Kupplung ausgestattet, die den Verdichter-Turbinenrotor mit der Abtriebswelle koppelt. Im Vergleich zu einem Dieselmotor mit \u00e4hnlicher Leistung war der GT-309 kompakter und wog nur ein Drittel des Gewichts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Im Innenraum gab es auf beiden Seiten der Mittelkonsole \u2013 revolution\u00e4r f\u00fcr die Zeit \u2013 Sitze mit Kopfst\u00fctzen. Auf der Konsole befand sich der Hebel, mit dem das Sechsgang-Automatikgetriebe bedient wurde. Der Innenraum war komplett mit Teppichboden ausgelegt und verf\u00fcgte \u00fcber aufrollbare Sicherheitsgurte, druckluftbetriebene Scheibenwischer, get\u00f6ntes Glas und eine Kombination aus Klimaanlage und Warmluftheizung. Au\u00dferdem wAR ein Stereo-Radio mit vier Lautsprechern sowie ein Telefon an Bord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Innovativ war das \u201eW\u00e4hlscheiben-Lenksystem\u201c. Dieses war auf einem Sockel vor dem Fahrer montiert und ersetzte die herk\u00f6mmliche Lenks\u00e4ule und das Lenkrad. Stattdessen gab es auf einem gepolsterten Vinylpaneel Drehkn\u00f6pfe f\u00fcr die Servolenkung. Die Bedienung des Automatikgetriebes war gleichfalls auf dem Sockel untergebracht.
