Beim Klassiker im US-Bundesstaat Colorado k\u00f6nnen in der \u201eUnlimited Class\u201c, in der Peugeot den Einsatzwagen des neunmaligen Rallyeweltmeisters S\u00e8bastien Loeb meldet, nahezu alle technischen M\u00f6glichkeiten ausgesch\u00f6pft werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entscheidendes Kriterium f\u00fcr den Erfolg ist die Art, wie die Motorleistung generiert wird. Da der Start auf 2865 Metern H\u00f6he liegt und das Ziel auf 4301 Meter, leiden vor allem Saugmotoren aufgrund des abnehmenden Sauerstoffgehalts unter deutlichem Leistungsverlust. Und dieser ist mit bis zu einem Prozent je 100 Metern H\u00f6he erklecklich. Peugeot setzt deshalb auf Zwangsbeatmung durch Turbolader. Zwei davon setzten einen 3,2-Liter-V6 unter Druck und erzeugen 875 PS. Die Grundstruktur des Mittelmotor-Allradlers besteht aus einem Rohrrahmen. Das Fahrzeuggewicht liegt bei 875 Kilogramm, womit das Leistungsgewicht ein Kilogramm pro PS betr\u00e4gt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auch wenn das Bergrennen teilweise auf Schotter ausgetragen wird, werden Spitzengeschwindigkeiten von bis zu 240 Stundenkilometer erreicht. Schon ab einhundert machen sich aerodynamische Hilfmittel positiv bemerkbar, weshalb die Franzosen einen gro\u00dfen Frontsplitter sowie einen riesigen, vom in Le Mans siegreichen Langstrecken-Prototyp 908 HDi FAP stammenden Heckfl\u00fcgel, an die Kleinwagenkarosserie montiert haben. 50 Prozent des Abtriebs kommen vom Unterboden. Weitere Leihgaben vom Le-Mans-Prototyp sind die Kraft\u00fcbertragung, die Bremsen sowie der Lufteinlass f\u00fcr den Motor.
