Das geht nat\u00fcrlich nur mit einem eigenen Motor \u2013 der kann aber nur eingesetzt werden, wenn er in einer Serie von mindesten 500 Exemplaren pro Jahr gebaut wird. Zudem zeigt der wirtschaftliche und sportliche Erfolg von Porsches 904 in den internationalen Zweiliter-Klassen, dass ein Rennwagen in kleinen Serien produziert und lukrativ verkauft werden kann. Das 1,6-Liter-Triebwerk leistet 180&nbsp;PS bei 9000\/min, das Auto wird 166 P genannt. Nach drei wenig erfolgreichen Rennen in Monza, auf dem N\u00fcrburgring und in Le Mans wird der Motor auf zwei Liter Hubraum gebracht. Der nun als 206 P bezeichnete Dino leistet 218 PS und tritt 1965 als offener Prototyp unter Ludovico Scarfiotti in der Europ\u00e4ischen Bergmeisterschaft gegen den Porsche-Bergspyder von Gerhard Mitter an. Scarfiotti siegt in Trento-Bondone, Cesana-Sestri\u00e8re, in Freiburg sowie in Ollons-Villars und gewinnt \u00fcberlegen den Titel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entsprechend dem ge\u00e4nderten Reglement treten die Italiener 1966 mit dem Coup\u00e9 206 S an. Ludovico Scarfiotti siegt noch zweimal in den italienischen Heimspielen in Cesana-Sestri\u00e8re und Sierre Montana und wird Zweiter der Gesamtwertung. F\u00fcr die Homologation des Zweiliter-Sechszylinders reicht die St\u00fcckzahl ohnehin nicht. Aber Fiat bietet industrielle Unterst\u00fctzung an: 1967 werden die 500 Fiat Dino Spider und Fiat Dino Coup\u00e9 gebaut, die n\u00f6tig sind, um den Motor f\u00fcr die Formel II-Saison 1968 zu homologieren.
