Das \u201eDragonsnake\u201c-Programm startete in den 1960er Jahren, als eine kleine Gruppe junger Shelby-Mitarbeiter 1963 zwei Roadster baute und mit Erfolg Rennen fuhr. Carroll Shelby war beeindruckt und genehmigte den Bau von drei weiteren Fahrzeugen. Diese Geschichte nimmt Shelby American mit der Produktion von f\u00fcnf neuen Roadstern wieder auf.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das erste Auto der Neuauflage feiert den Shelby 289 Cobra Dragonsnake des NHRA-Champions Bruce Larson von 1963, dem erfolgreichsten Dragrace-Renn-Cobra aller Zeiten. Laut Shelby American World Registry war dieser mit der Fahrgestellnummer CSX2093 eine Stra\u00dfen-Cobra, die zu einem Dragonsnake-Rennwagen umgebaut wurde. Der Umbau umfasste hintere Kotfl\u00fcgelverbreiterungen, American Racing-Felgen, Drag-Slicks, einen verchromten \u00dcberrollb\u00fcgel, einen Drehzahlmesser und \u00c4nderungen am Fahrwerk \u2013 ein Hardtop verbesserte die Aerodynamik. Dieser ist gleichfalls fuchsiafarben lackiert, hat ein Hardtop, verchromte Sto\u00dfstangen, handgemalte Grafiken, traditionelle Cobra-Aufkleber, polierte L\u00fcftungsschlitze und \u201ePowered by Ford\u201c-Aufkleber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das authentische nachgebaute Fahrgestell besteht aus 4-Zoll-Rundrohr-Haupttr\u00e4gern. Die dem Original entsprechende Aufh\u00e4ngung hat einstellbare Penske-Sto\u00dfd\u00e4mpfer sowie eine Zahnstangenlenkung. Zur weiteren Ausstattung geh\u00f6ren Scheibenbremsen im Werksstil von 1963, ein Aluminiumk\u00fchler, ein elektrischer L\u00fcfter und ein ma\u00dfgeschneiderter Auspuff. Der 364 c.i.d. Aluminium-Shelby-Motor wird von Weber-Vergasern versorgt und ist mit einem 5-Gang-Schaltgetriebe gekoppelt.
