Im April wurde der Wagen auf dem 58. Turiner Autosalon vorgestellt. Der Name Athon bezog sich auf den \u00e4gyptischen Sonnengott und sollte die die finanziell angeschlagene Firma zur\u00fcck auf wirtschaftlich sicheren Grund f\u00fchren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auch wenn sich Deschamps bei seinem Erstling f\u00fcr die Carozzeria auch auf\u00a0 fr\u00fcheren Konzeptfahrzeuge von Bertone bezog, zeigte er doch mit dem Spider seinen eigenen Stil. Die Front war klar und&nbsp; kantig, der Stil insgesamt betont grafisch und geometrisch-genau. Eine gro\u00dfe dimensionierte und&nbsp; leicht gew\u00f6lbte Windschutzscheibe f\u00fchrte die Linie der Fronthaube fort. Die hintere Abdeckung hingegen wirkt wie eine aufgesetzte geometrische Skulptur auf einem langen und relativ hohen Heck. Um die Skulpturalit\u00e4t zu betonen war die Motorabdeckung als separates Element halbmatt lackiert<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Technisch basierte das Auto auf dem wenig erfolgreichen Silhouette auf, der vom Urraco abgeleitet war. Sein Dreiliter-V8 leistete 260 PS bei 7.500 U\/min und wurde von vier Weber-Vergasern gespeist. Der Radstand blieb unver\u00e4ndert, aber die Gesamtl\u00e4nge betrug weniger als vier Meter, was vor allem auf den kurzen hinteren \u00dcberhang zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bei der Innenausstattung wurde sowohl in ergonomischer als auch in \u00e4sthetischer Hinsicht auf alle Details geachtet.
