Die Karosserie wurde von der Carrozzeria Francis Lombardi gebaut, stammte vom Zeichenbrett des Designer Pio Manz\u00f9 und war so gut gelungen, dass nicht nur Lombardi eine eigene Serie auflegte, sondern auch andere italienische Kleinhersteller.\u00a0Der Heckmotor-Zweisitzer von Carlo Abarth war erstmals auf dem Pariser Autosalon 1968 zu sehen und wurde von einem getunten Version und im Hubraum vergr\u00f6\u00dferten 903 cm\u00b3-Motor aus dem kurz zuvor vorgestellten Fiat 850 Sport Coup\u00e9 und Sport Spider angetrieben. Die Leistung betrug 52 PS. Bei einem Gewicht von 670 Kilogramm reichten dessen 75 PS f\u00fcr flotte Fahrleistungen. Der kleine Zweisitzer kam auf eine Spitze von 180 Stundenkilometern. Abarth-Motorenmann Mario Colucci trieb es mit dem Scorpione SS dann auf die Spitze. Der hatte 100 PS und wurde f\u00fcr dieses Plus an Leistung umfassend \u00fcberarbeitet. Er hatte nun ein Gewindefahrwerk an der Vorderachse, eine \u00fcberarbeitete Hinterachse sowie Stabilisatoren vorne und hinten, au\u00dferdem Girling-Scheibenbremsen an allen R\u00e4dern. Die H\u00f6chstgeschwindigkeit des SS lag dann bei 185 km\/h. Mit dem hinten montierten, schwereren 124er-Motor verschob sich die Balance deutlich nach hinten. 39 Prozent des Gewichts lagen auf der Vorderachse, 61 auf der Hinterachse, was sich insofern auf das Fahrverhalten auswirkte, als dass sich die Front bei h\u00f6heren Geschwindigkeiten ein wenig abhob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Es blieb eine kurze Karriere.
