Um dem neuen Kleinwagen mit Boxermotor hohe Aufmerksamkeit zu verschaffen, soll der italienische Designstar auch ein Showcar f\u00fcr den Turiner Salon 1971 auf die R\u00e4der stellen. Der Auftrag f\u00fcr den \u201eCaimano\u201c lautet ausdr\u00fccklich, ein echtes Traumauto jenseits allen Alltagsnutzens zu schaffen. Die Stars der 1970er Jahre sind extreme Keile wie der Lancia Stratos oder der Lamborghini Countach: das gibt die Richtung vor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auf dem um 20 Zentimeter verk\u00fcrzten Chassis des Alfasud sitzt ein Zweisitzer mit extrem tiefer Front und schlitzf\u00f6rmigem K\u00fchlergrill. F\u00fcr die 1970er Jahre gewisserma\u00dfen obligaorisch sind die Klappscheinwerfer. Der Zugang zum Innenraum erfolgt durch eine raumschiffartige Glaskuppel, die als Ganzes nach vorne aufgeklappt wird. Die A-S\u00e4ule entf\u00e4llt dadurch ganz, B- und C-S\u00e4ule formen hinter dem Cockpit einen \u00dcberrollb\u00fcgel. Die Frischluftzufuhr ist nur \u00fcber zwei winzige Schiebe\u00f6ffnungen m\u00f6glich. Die zwei gro\u00dfen Instrumente sind gleichfalls unkonventionell: ihre Zeiger sind fixiert, stattdessen drehen sich die zylinderf\u00f6rmigen Skalen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Der Antrieb ist weit weniger spektakul\u00e4r. 68 Pferde aus dem Serientriebwerk m\u00fcssen gen\u00fcgen. Und dem Motor ist auch die einzige formale Schwachstelle \u2013 der Knick in der Haube \u2013 geschuldet.
