Kaum ein anderes Fahrzeug hat Sportlichkeit, Alltagstauglichkeit und Wirtschaftlichkeit so perfekt vereint. Der GTI definierte das Segment der Kompaktsportler neu und setzte mit seiner Technik und seinem Konzept Ma\u00dfst\u00e4be, die bis heute nachwirken. Unter der schlichten Karosserie des Golf A1 mit dem Werkscode 17 verbirgt sich ein 1,6-Liter-Einspritzmotor, der von Audi \u00fcbernommen wurde und 81 kW (110 PS) leistet. Mit nur 810 Kilogramm Leergewicht erreicht der GTI beeindruckende Fahrleistungen \u2013 \u00fcber 180 km\/h Spitze und ein Leistungsgewicht, das in dieser Klasse Ma\u00dfst\u00e4be setzt.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zum Start ist der Golf GTI in Marsrot oder Diamantsilber metallic erh\u00e4ltlich. Alle Chromteile sind schwarz lackiert, der K\u00fchlergrill tr\u00e4gt den legend\u00e4ren roten Rahmen und das GTI-Emblem. Der Innenraum zeigt sportlichen Purismus: schwarze Teppiche, Dachhimmel und Sonnenblenden, dazu die ikonischen Sportsitze im Schottenkaro-Design und der ber\u00fchmte Golfball-Schaltknauf. Das Fahrwerk wurde tiefergelegt (vorn 10 mm, hinten 20 mm) und durch Stabilisatoren an Vorder- und Hinterachse stabilisiert. Breitreifen der Dimension 175\/70 HR 13 sorgen f\u00fcr sicheren Grip \u2013 das \u201eHR\u201c steht sinnbildlich f\u00fcr die \u00fcber 180 km\/h H\u00f6chstgeschwindigkeit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Volkswagen kalkulierte mit 5.000 Exemplaren, doch die Nachfrage explodierte: Zwischen 1976 und 1983 wurden 462.000 St\u00fcck gebaut. Der Golf GTI avancierte rasch zum Kultobjekt und feierte im Motorsport zahlreiche Erfolge.
