W\u00e4hrend Abarth den Porsche-\u00e4hnlichen Ansatz bevorzugte, mit einer Blechkarosserie und freitragendem Heckmotor, setzte Colucci auf den Gitterrohrrahmen und den zentralen Mittelmotor. Zwei technische Philosophien prallten aufeinander \u2013 doch aus dieser Spannung erwuchs Innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das erste gemeinsame Projekt, der Fiat Abarth Sport Spider von 1960, legte die Grundlage. Coluccis Vision eines leichten, verwindungssteifen Rohrrahmens verband sich mit Abarths Ziel, ein wirtschaftlich produzierbares Siegerauto zu schaffen. Der entscheidende Schritt folgte 1966 mit dem Projekt \u201eSE04\u201c, dem FIAT Abarth 1000 SP (Sport Prototipo). Mit 105 PS bei 8000 U\/min erreichte der nur 480 Kilogramm leichte Spider \u00fcber 220 km\/h \u2013 eine spezifische Leistung von mehr als 100 PS pro Liter, f\u00fcr die damalige Zeit sensationell. Der Mittelmotor, die aerodynamisch optimierte Front mit seitlich angeordneten K\u00fchlern und die charakteristischen, rund auslaufenden Kotfl\u00fcgel gaben dem 1000 SP sein unverwechselbares Profil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sein Deb\u00fct feierte der 1000 SP 1966 auf der Rennstrecke. Beim 500-Kilometer-Rennen auf dem N\u00fcrburgring siegte das Team M\u00fcller\/Steinmetz in der 1000-Kubik-Klasse und erreichte den dritten Gesamtrang. Kurz darauf gewann Leo Cella das Bergrennen Aosta-Pila, und bald darauf folgten zahlreiche weitere Klassensiege in ganz Europa. Ob bei den 1000 km von Monza oder bei nationalen Bergrennen \u2013 das Auto verband Fahrbarkeit mit Siegpotenzial. Carlo Abarth hatte sein Ziel erreicht: ein siegf\u00e4higes, bezahlbares Kundenauto. Und Colucci bewies, dass technischer Idealismus und kommerzieller Realismus kein Widerspruch sein m\u00fcssen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Auseinandersetzung zwischen Rohrrahmen und Blechkarosserie fand eine vers\u00f6hnliche Fortsetzung im Abarth 2000 Sport Tipo SE010 (1967\/68) \u2013 eine Symbiose beider Konzepte, die die Innovationskraft der Marke untermauerte.
