Die Studie war als \u00f6kologischer Mittelmotor-Sportwagen mit elektrischem Allradantrieb konzipiert und verband Hybridtechnik mit Solarenergie. Trotz seiner flachen, kompakten Silhouette bot der Innenraum Platz f\u00fcr drei Erwachsene und ein Kind samt Gep\u00e4ck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">M\u00f6glich wurde dies durch die extrem kurze Front, die nahtlos in die stark geneigte Windschutzscheibe \u00fcberging und die Profillinie bis ins Heck fortsetzte. Der Einstieg erfolgte stehend \u00fcber eine Kanzel mit integrierten Seitent\u00fcren, die elektrisch nach oben \u00f6ffneten und am Heckb\u00fcgel angeschlagen waren. Eine zweite, hintere Klappe erm\u00f6glichte den Zugang zu Motor und Gep\u00e4ckraum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zwischen den beiden T\u00fcren waren Solarzellenpaneele integriert, erg\u00e4nzt durch weitere Zellen an der Front. Sie erzeugten bis zu 250 Watt Leistung und dienten der Klimatisierung sowie der Batterieladung. Aerodynamisch verzichtete der Quaranta auf einen klassischen K\u00fchlergrill; stattdessen \u00fcbernahmen oberhalb der Scheinwerfer platzierte Lufteinl\u00e4sse die Funktion vorderer Spoiler. Am Heck unterst\u00fctzten pr\u00e4zise kantige Schnitte einen unteren Fl\u00fcgel. Die Beleuchtung kombinierte LED-Abblendlicht, Bi-Xenon-Fernlicht und Voll-LED-Elemente f\u00fcr Blinker, Positions- und Bremslicht in einem gemeinsamen Geh\u00e4use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Karosserie basierte auf einem Kohlefaser-Monocoque mit aufgesetzten Aluminium- und Spezialstahlteilen, w\u00e4hrend Verbundglas mit UV-Filter f\u00fcr Windschutzscheibe und Dach verwendet wurde. Der vollkommen flache Unterboden resultierte aus dem elektrischen Allradlayout. Der Fahrer sa\u00df zentral, flankiert von zwei weiteren Sitzen f\u00fcr Erwachsene, w\u00e4hrend ein Kindersitz hinter dem Fahrer positioniert war. Ein zweistufiges Cockpit ersetzte Spiegel durch Kameramonitore und integrierte ein Nachtsichtsystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Der Antrieb stammte von Toyota und nutzte das Hybrid Synergy Drive mit einem 3,3-Liter-V6 und zwei Elektromotoren. Die kombinierte Leistung entsprach der eines Achtzylinders bei Verbrauchs- und Emissionswerten eines Vierzylinders. Das E-Four-System verteilte die Kraft variabel zwischen zwei- und viergetriebenem Betrieb, w\u00e4hrend das E-CVT-Getriebe eine stufenlose Kraft\u00fcbertragung gew\u00e4hrleistete. Mit 60 Litern Kraftstoff erreichte der Quaranta eine Reichweite von bis zu 1.000 Kilometern.
