F\u00fcr den Einsatz auf Rennstrecken wie der Targa Florio oder Le Mans sowie im Rallyesport wurde der 911 2.5 S gegen\u00fcber dem serienm\u00e4\u00dfigen 911 2.4 S Coup\u00e9 zum Mehrpreis von 19.000 D-Mark werksseitig nach Ma\u00dfgabe des internationalen Sportgesetzes modifiziert. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vom US-amerikanischen Rennfahrer Michael \u201eMike\u201c Keyser im November 1971 bestellt, kam der 911 2.5 S\/T in der Saison 1972 bei zahlreichen Rennen in den USA und der Langstrecken-Weltmeisterschaft zum Einsatz. Am Steuer sa\u00df damals auch J\u00fcrgen Barth, Werksfahrer und Mitarbeiter der Porsche Sportabteilung. <br>Zusammen mit Mike Keyser bestritt der Gesamtsieger der 24 Stunden von Le Mans 1977 im 911 2.5 S\/T in der Saison 1972 die sechs Stunden von Daytona, die zw\u00f6lf Stunden von Sebring im US-Bundesstaat Florida, gefolgt von der Targa Florio sowie dem 1.000-Kilometer-Rennen auf dem N\u00fcrburgring. Zusammen mit dem Schweizer Sylvain Garant nahmen Keyser und Barth schlie\u00dflich den Saisonh\u00f6hepunkt \u2013 die 24 Stunden von Le Mans \u2013 in Angriff.
