Die technische Basis f\u00fcr das 2+2-sitzige Sportcoup\u00e9 lieferte die Volvo Amazon P120 Limousine, deren 90 PS starker 1,8-Liter-Vierzylinder B18B im Volvo P1800 durchaus sportliche Fahrleistungen erm\u00f6glichte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"810\" height=\"567\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_5-810x567.jpg\" alt=\"Volvo P1800\" class=\"wp-image-6040\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_5-810x567.jpg 810w, https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_5-300x210.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_5-768x538.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_5.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mit dem Volvo P1800 wollten die Schweden neue M\u00e4rkte, vor allem in Nordamerika und Asien, erschlie\u00dfen. Mangels eigener Fertigungskapazit\u00e4ten wurde die Karosserie in Schottland gepresst und ab 1961 beim englischen Kleinhersteller Jensen montiert. Das stellte sich schnell als Fehler heraus, denn die Fertigungsqualit\u00e4t war unbefriedigend. Schon die ersten 250 Autos mussten vor der Auslieferung nach G\u00f6teborg zur Nachbesserung ins Werk und ab 1963 zog die Produktion des Gran Turismo komplett ins schwedische Werk Lundby um. Ab da lief es gut f\u00fcr den nun Volvo 1800 S \u2013 \u201eS\u201c f\u00fcr Sverige (Schweden) \u2013 genannten und auf 96 PS erstarkten Sportwagen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"810\" height=\"448\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_1-810x448.jpg\" alt=\"Volvo P1800 S\" class=\"wp-image-6044\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_1-810x448.jpg 810w, https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_1-300x166.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_1-768x425.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Volvo_1800_S_1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">F\u00fcr diese Zeit war das Volvo-Coup\u00e9 recht schnell. Den&nbsp; Sprint von 0 auf 100 km\/h absolvierte der Schwede in 12,1 Sekunden und auch sicherheitstechnisch setzte es Akzente:&nbsp; als weltweit erstes Sportcoup\u00e9 verf\u00fcgte es serienm\u00e4\u00dfig \u00fcber Sicherheitsgurte f\u00fcr alle vier Passagiere.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die ikonische Form mit langgestreckter Motorhaube und eleganter Silhouette befl\u00fcgelte den Erfolg. Regelm\u00e4\u00dfige Modellpflege hielt den Volvo P1800 \u00fcber Jahrzehnte optisch frisch, etwa durch regelm\u00e4\u00dfig aktualisierte K\u00fchlergrills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die markanteste \u00c4nderung des P1800&nbsp; stellte Volvo 1971 vor: den 1800 ES, der mit seiner gro\u00dfen gl\u00e4serner Heckklappe in Deutschland unter dem Spitznamen \u201eSchneewittchensarg\u201c bekannt wurde. Die Karriere dauerte noch bis 1973. Im Jahr 1972 rollte das letzte Coup\u00e9 \u2013 ein Volvo 1800 E \u2013 vom Band und ein Jahr sp\u00e4ter verabschiedete sich der Volvo 1800 ES. Insgesamt wurden 47.855 Einheiten gebaut, davon 39.778 Coup\u00e9s. Beide Varianten sind heute, ob ihres hohen Gebrauchswerts gesuchte Klassiker. Wie haltbar so ein Schweden-Coup\u00e9 sein kann zeigt der rote Volvo 1800 S, den der US-Amerikaner Irv Gordon im Jahr 1966 erwarb und mit dem er im Jahr 2013 die Drei-Millionen-Meilen-Marke (4.827.00 Kilometer) durchbrach.
