Das Design stammt vom italienischen Studio Ghia und die Autos werden im Detroit Chrysler-Werk zusammengebaut. Das Motorenprogramm, aus dem das Turbinenauto hervorging, beginnt in den sp\u00e4ten 1930er Jahren und bringt mehrere Prototypen hervor, die in den 1950er und fr\u00fchen 1960er Jahren erfolgreich zahlreiche Tests absolvieren. Die sogenannten A-831-Motoren, die das 63er Turbinenauto antreiben, k\u00f6nnen viele verschiedene Kraftstoffen verdauen, sind wartungs\u00e4rmer und halten l\u00e4nger als herk\u00f6mmliche Kolbenmotoren, obwohl sie in der Herstellung wesentlich teurer sind.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Insgesamt werden 55 Exemplare auf die R\u00e4der gestellt: f\u00fcnf Prototypen und eine limitierte Serie von 50 stra\u00dfentauglichen Fahrzeugen. Das zweit\u00fcrige Hardtop-Coup\u00e9 verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber Servobremsen, Servolenkung und ein TorqueFlite-Getriebe und ist in einem metallischen Bronzeton lackiert, der als \u201cTurbinenbronze&#8220; bezeichnet wuird. Gro\u00dfe \u00d6ffnungen im Stil eines Turbinen-Lufteinlass nehmen die Frontscheinwerfer auf, im Heck f\u00fchren zwei aufw\u00e4ndig gefertigte Austrittsd\u00fcsen die Verbrennungsprodukte ab. Der Innenraum ist mit drei gro\u00dfen Rundinstrumenten sowie zweifarbigen Schalensitzen f\u00fcr alle vier Passagiere ausgestattet. Durch den ganzen Passagierraum f\u00fchrt als sichtbares Designelement ein Aluminumrohr, dass die Abgase zum Heck leitet. Hier haben sich die Designer die M\u00fche gemacht, sowohl den Flansch hinten wie auch den vorderen mit aufw\u00e4ndig gestalteten Rippen zu verzieren und so auch im Passagierabteil der Antriebsart einen visuellen Ausdruck zu geben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"810\" height=\"301\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Chrysler-Turbine-Car-3-810x301.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Chrysler-Turbine-Car-3-810x301.jpg 810w, https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Chrysler-Turbine-Car-3-300x112.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Chrysler-Turbine-Car-3-768x285.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.enzo-und-ferdinand.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Chrysler-Turbine-Car-3.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nach ersten Tests schickt Chrysler von Oktober 1963 bis Januar 1966 2333 Testfahrer in 133 US-St\u00e4dten auf die Stra\u00dfe, die insgesamt mehr als eine Million Meilen (1,6 Millionen km) zur\u00fccklegen. Das hilft, eine Reihe von Erkenntnissen herauszufiltern, wie etwa die komplizierte Startprozedur, die relativ geringe Beschleunigung, aber auch den niedrigen Kraftstoffverbrauch und den akzeptablen Ger\u00e4uschpegel. Als Vorteile der Turbinenmotoren zeichnen ihre bemerkenswerte Langlebigkeit, ihr reibungsloser Betrieb und ihr relativ geringer Wartungsbedarf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nach Abschluss des Anwenderprogramms im Jahr 1966 holt Chrysler alle Fahrzeuge zur\u00fcck ins Werk und zerlegt alle bis auf neun.
